How Does Ketosis Help You Lose Weight?
When you eat a lot of carbohydrates your body breaks it down to glucose, which is a primary source of energy. In ketosis, however, there’s a lack of glucose, so your body burns stored body fat instead.

How to Make Keto Coffee
You will need a blender to make keto coffee because oil and water don’t mix. The only way you will be able to get them to fully combine is by blending them at high speeds.
The following is a basic recipe for making “bulletproof” coffee:
- One cup coffee
- One tablespoon of unsalted grass-fed butter
- One tablespoon of virgin coconut oil
You can add the following ingredients to the basic recipe if you would like to get even more energy out of your keto coffee. Depending on your dietary requirements or your preferred taste, you can adjust the recipe by removing some of the ingredients.
- Three egg yolks
- One tablespoon of collagen (hydrolyzed gelatin)
- A quarter to a half teaspoon of cinnamon
- A few drops of low carb sweetener such as liquid stevia for taste
- A low-carb coffee creamer
- Brew one cup of coffee using your preferred method.
- Pour the coffee into the blender along with the butter and coconut oil, and any other optional ingredients.
- Pulse the coffee mixture until smooth and frothy.
The basic recipe has 221 calories and 25.2 grams of fat, of which 20.9 grams is saturated fat. If you add all the ingredients above, a cup will have 474 calories and 45.6 grams of fat, of which 29.7 grams will be saturated fat.
